A serious accident occurred on Lake Braies in South Tyrol. A group of people of Italian nationality, including a 7-month-old baby placed in a stroller, was walking on the frozen surface of the reservoir when a collapse was recorded due to the rising temperatures in recent days.

Seven adults hospitalized with severe hypothermia, the child rushed to Innsbruck.

The first to fall into the water would have been the family with the baby, then the other people who had come to help.

This is the third, and most serious, accident in two days on Lake Braies: yesterday the Fire Brigade had to intervene twice to save some people who fell into the water while walking on the frozen surface. In the first case it was a Milanese woman who was with her dog, followed by her 60-year-old husband and 30-year-old daughter. The other episode involved three young tourists from Udine who broke through the ice on the western shore and were saved by some passers-by, then refusing hospitalization.
