Two brothers aged 34 and 42 were stopped by the Carabinieri in Quarto, in the Naples area, accused of killing their father, aged 71. Last night the man's partner had gone to the police station to report his disappearance.
The Carabinieri then began investigations and, during a house search, found the man's body hidden in a chest on the terrace of the arrested men's home, in the densely populated centre on the outskirts of Naples, behind the Church of Santa Maria and 200 metres from the Town Hall.
The investigation, coordinated by the Naples prosecutor's office, was conducted by the Carabinieri of the Quarto Tenancy and those of the Pozzuoli Company. The two brothers arrested both have no criminal record, but "strong evidence" of guilt was collected against them.
The man's disappearance dates back to June 3, according to the complaint filed yesterday evening with the police by his partner and cohabitant.
