A high-speed train, passing through the Riccione (Rimini) station, hit and killed two teenage girls .
The victims are two sisters aged 15 and 17, Alessia and Giulia Pisanu, residing in Castenaso (Bologna), daughters of an entrepreneur from Senorbì, Vittorio Pisanu, who moved to Emilia in the 1990s to start a moving company .
The tragedy took place on Saturday morning, around 7. According to the first reconstructions, they were seen staggering across the tracks, just as a Frecciarossa headed for Milan was arriving at speed . First, one of the two may have come down on the tracks and the other tried to bring her back to the platform. But when it was too late .
The driver reported trying to whistle and slow down , but the impact was inevitable. And, unfortunately, fatal.
A bartender at the station, on the other hand, said that shortly before the tragedy one of the two girls had entered the room, visibly upset, complaining that someone had stolen her mobile phone .
"I saw - said another witness - the two girls who wanted to go to the second track, because the train was stopped for Ancona. So I started screaming and behind me other people started screaming , waiting for take the train. Between the screams I heard the whistle of the train from the first platform, heading towards Milan. I heard a loud bang , I didn't understand anything, all the people started screaming ".
The investigations, conducted by the railway police , are continuing to shed full light on the incident. Disruptions to railway traffic have been recorded throughout the morning, with delays for about forty trains.
IL CORDOGLIO - The two sisters, as mentioned, lived with their family in Madonna di Castenaso, in the province of Bologna, where the father has a moving company.
"We are speechless in front of this tragedy so difficult to understand and accept and we feel an unbridgeable pain", writes the Municipality of Castenaso led by the mayor Carlo Gubellini.
"It is a great pain for the whole community," adds the mayor. "The whole town gathers around parents, family members, friends: Giulia and Alessia, may the earth be light there.
You have flown away too soon . "
ALWAYS TOGETHER - "A sister as a best friend", wrote on the Instagram stories Giulia, 17, the older of the two sisters. And always together Alessia and Giulia were really, in life and on social media, where the two young women appear smiling, in Sardinia, in Costa Rei , last June, after the end of school.
