There is a name in the register of suspects for the death of Michele Merlo , the 28-year-old singer from Bassano, a former competitor of Amici, who died last June 6 at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna for a cerebral ischemia caused by a fulminant leukemia.

The alleged offense is that of manslaughter following medical conduct.

In recent days, the Bologna prosecutor had shown that the Bolognese doctors - those who tried to cure Merlo in the last period - had no responsibility for his death. Even if they recognized the signs of leukemia, it would still be too late.

The investigation file for manslaughter had thus been transferred to Vicenza in recent weeks: in the month of May the boy had in fact turned to some doctors from Vicenza and Padua, in Rosà and Cittadella, to understand what the bruises he presented on a leg, also accompanied by other bleeding.

According to Corriere del Veneto, one of the experts who visited it will therefore have to answer for what happened.

Michele Merlo had been affected by acute promyelocytic leukemia: a subtype of very aggressive leukemia which is also called fulminant, due to the speed with which it can be fatal. However, if diagnosed early it can be treatable.
