There is a suspect in the three murders of women in Rome on Thursday morning.
He is 51 years old and his name is Giandavide De Pau: the man, tracked down this morning at dawn in the Primavalle district, was stopped after a long interrogation in the police headquarters.
De Pau has drug addiction problems and several criminal records, also linked to relationships with the underworld. He was the driver of Michele Senese , who was arrested in 2020 and believed to be one of the most important Camorra bosses who managed drug trafficking in the capital.
His name appears in the acts of various investigations by the DDA on the Sienese clan but also in the investigation on the Middle World , the criminal group led by Massimo Carminati and Salvatore Buzzi. In the documents of the latter investigation, reference is also made to a meeting that took place in a bar in the Corso Francia area between Carminati and Senese where De Pau was also present. And also in other more recent investigations he is accused of the crimes of robbery, sale of drugs and threats to a public official .
The testimonies provided by two Cuban citizens and a third person, who directed the investigative activity on the 50-year-old, were decisive for the breakthrough in the investigation.
" The situation is under strict control, we believe that the community can return to being calmer because there will be no other facts connected to these tragic events ", reassured the questore of Rome, Mario Della Cioppa.
THE MURDERS
The killer massacred Martha Castano Torres , a 65-year-old Colombian, and two Asian women: all within a few hours. Castano who, as her sister said, "was waiting for a client", was killed during sexual intercourse with a knife-like cutting weapon , struck several times in the chest and left lying on the bed in a pool of blood.
Then from via Durazzo the assassin reached via Riboty 28, a journey of about 850 meters, where he reached one of the two Chinese women in the apartment on the first floor: he withdrew to have sexual intercourse during which he attacked her . Hearing the commotion the second woman in the house intervened to block him but he stabbed her to death. At that juncture the other girl, naked, attempted to escape but was caught up on the landing and killed .
