Horror in Rome.

Three women were shot and killed in the outdoor gazebo of a bar during the meeting of a consortium of condominiums. There are also four wounded.

A 57-year-old man, Claudio Campiti, opened fire: "He entered the room, closed the door, yelled I'll kill you all and started shooting" , said a witness. The incident took place in via Monte Gilberto, in the Colle Salario area.

The man was arrested: to push him to pull the trigger old condominium rusts for the management of the Valleverde Consortium, an organization that manages villas in the area of Lake Turano, used as second homes by the consortium members. In the past there had been cross-complaints between Campiti – who wrote on a blog about his conflicting relationship with the structure – and the Consortium.

" He was a member of the consortium known by all who did not want to pay management fees," witnesses say, and in the past he had made verbal threats. This morning "he fired at the board of directors of the consortium" but " the weapon jammed and he was blocked by some consortium members who also unlocked the door ".

«I tried to jump on him but others had already jumped on him – the words of a man present on the scene -. If it wasn't for us it would have been a massacre, it had 2 magazines and other cartridges. I saw a girl next to me who was shot and died."

Campiti apparently had asked for a firearms license but had been denied . The no had arrived thanks to the information provided by the Carabinieri of the place where he lived, in the province of Rieti, who had reported on the ongoing disputes with the Consortium. For this he allegedly took the gun from a shooting range without ever returning it .

«The episode of violence that upsets our city is extremely serious – commented the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri -. Three lives lost and seriously injured in a shooting during a condominium meeting. I am in contact with the Prefect and tomorrow I will participate in the Committee for order and safety. My closeness to the families".
