Sentenced to 8 years in prison Mustafa Minte Lamin, the 33-year-old Gambian drug dealer who sold drugs to actor Libero De Rienzo, who later died of an overdose on July 15, 2021 at the age of 44.

This was decided by the monocratic judge of Rome recognizing the crime of drug transfer but absolving the defendant from the charge of death as a consequence of another crime .

During the indictment, the public prosecutor Francesco Minisci had spoken of "incontestable" evidence of the fact that Minte Lamin on 14 July two years ago gave heroin to the actor. It was a «toxic and impure» substance which caused «the event of death: De Rienzo was healthy and died as a result of the drug he had taken».

The Rome prosecutor's office had asked for 13 years in prison.
