He came from Mozambique, passed through South Africa to land at Fiumicino, from there he went home to Caserta, then left Naples for Milan from where he traveled to return to Fiumicino and take the plane back to Africa. According to the reconstructions, the first Italian patient infected with the Omicron variant of Covid took a long path. An Eni employee, he was informed of the positive result for the swab while he was heading from Lombardy to Lazio and at that point he continued to return to Caserta. When it took off it was coronavirus negative.
In all his movements he was certainly in contact with his family - wife, two children and in-laws - and all were infected, even the school classes attended by the two children are in quarantine.
The variant was sequenced by the Sacco hospital in Milan and traces are underway to identify all the people he came into contact with during his stay in Italy.
