"I think we've framed Stasi." This is one of the 280 messages that are said to be part of the new investigation by the Pavia Prosecutor's Office into the murder of Chiara Poggi , which occurred in August 2007 in Garlasco and for which her then-boyfriend Alberto Stasi has almost finished serving a 16-year prison sentence.
The weekly magazine Giallo reports this WhatsApp message sent to a friend and attributed to Paola Cappa, Stefania's twin sister, Chiara's cousins who were never investigated.
In a report on the reopened investigation against Andrea Sempio, the magazine also published a photo, posted by Paola on social media in 2013, of feet with checked socks and a polka dot print in the middle, similar to the one found at the time in the Garlasco villa with the phrase: "Happy birthday, little sister".
It also cites an Instagram story by Stefania in which a child appears between bicycles and the writing "Fruttolo", which the weekly magazine links to the jar of the same yogurt found immediately after the crime in the Poggi house , and which the investigators from Pavia will have analyzed to try to identify fingerprints and DNA.
There are also wiretaps from the time when Paola, on the phone with her grandmother, vents about her discomfort with the hospitality given to Chiara's parents, who at that time no longer had a home because it was under seizure.
Chiara's two cousins were talked about a lot right after the murder, but they were immediately discarded from the investigation . Stefania is now 41 and a lawyer, Paola lives abroad and is a food blogger. Now their names are back in the spotlight, even if they are not under investigation.
Stefania's was made at the time of the facts by a witness: Marco De Montis Muschitta, who was in Garlasco inspecting manholes for work on the morning of the murder and said he had seen a girl who could be Stefania Cappa on a black bike who was moving away with a bulky object held between her right hand and the handlebars. A testimony later retracted.
A recent testimony, given to Le Iene, instead concerns a man who claims to have seen Stefania Cappa throw an object into a canal in Tromello . After cross-referencing the two testimonies, yesterday the Carabinieri and Firefighters concentrated their searches in that area, emptying the canal. Finding several objects, including a hammer, which could be the murder weapon – never found so far . That canal is located near the house where Chiara's cousins' grandmother lived.
The relationship with Andrea Sempio, investigated for the murder: the telephone records did not reveal any contact between Sempio and Stefania Cappa in the months before and in the weeks after the murder.
