Behind her is a sick and suffocating relationship , made up of abuse , violence and death threats by her ex-husband . " I'll kill you and bury your body in the ground ," he had once told her. And Marta (invented name), a 36-year-old from Naples , had slowly stopped living.

Since yesterday, however, her life has changed thanks to a special "smartwatch" that allows her, in case of need, to have the police intervene simply by pressing a button. The device, the first of 45 that will soon be delivered to as many victims , is directly connected to the operations center of the provincial command of the Carabinieri: as soon as the SOS arrives, the victim is geolocated and help arrives. And so the woman took back her life interrupted by the ex, even ready to slash her with acid .

«I am constantly under control but I am very happy - she confessed, mother of two minor children - now I can go out more serene and calm after months and months spent holed up at home . Thanks to this watch I feel protected . It's true, I have to give up my privacy , but it's a price I'm willing to pay."

On November 30, the Carabinieri of Naples, the weaker sections of the Neapolitan public prosecutor's office (coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Raffaello Falcone), the Vodafone Italia Foundation and the Soroptimist International Club Napoli announced the launch of the pilot project " Mobile Angel ” which provided for the delivery of this life-saving watch to victims of ill-treatment. And the one entrusted to Marta is the first in Southern Italy.
