Birth records of children with two mothers cannot be canceled . This was established by the court of Padua, declaring inadmissible the 37 appeals with which the Prosecutor's Office requested to remove the second mother from the birth certificates of as many boys and girls registered in the registry with the surname of the biological mother and of the so-called intended mother.

The question submitted to the judges concerned the possibility of recognizing, as daughters and sons of two mothers, children conceived abroad by two women and then born in Italy .

«An important step for girls and boys and their mothers, today the love and primary interest of the little ones wins », declares the mayor Sergio Giordani .

«A great satisfaction that the Court accepted my defense line, effectively confirming the birth certificates with double motherhood», says the lawyer Michele Giarratano, who followed some of the couples of rainbow mothers from Padua in court.

« Courage and common sense won, against ideological fury . The network of lawyers who presented an unassailable defense against a dormant Parliament won. Our children won, and at the moment they can continue to call us mothers", is the comment of Laura, one of the mothers subject to the Prosecutor's appeal .
