Venice: The body of a young man has been found with a wound to his temple.
The injury was consistent with a gunshot wound. Carabinieri were on scene.

The body of a young man was found this morning in a field in Mira, in the Venice area . The victim appears to be between 25 and 30 years old . There was a wound on his temple, consistent with a gunshot wound. A passerby noticed the wound and alerted the police. The body was found with his clothes on and lying on its side.
The coroner was called to the scene, along with the magistrate on duty, the commander of the Venice Carabinieri Investigative Unit, Giuseppe Battaglia, and the provincial commander, Marco Aquilio. The body was spotted shortly before noon by an amateur photographer who had wandered into the agricultural area to take some pictures.
The body, according to reports, was found near a ditch used to irrigate the fields. Death presumably occurred a few days ago. No hypothesis regarding the cause of death has been ruled out, including the possibility of a voluntary act.
