Maria Michelle Causo was the name of the 17-year-old Roman girl barbarously killed in Rome, in the Primavalle district.
The body was found yesterday, in a shopping trolley near a rubbish bin, and immediately the investigators' attention was focused on a teenager, with an initial reconstruction of the whole horrible affair.
The boy allegedly killed her with at least five or six stab wounds, then carried the body a hundred meters down the street , hidden inside a garbage bag which was in turn placed in a shopping cart. However, a passer-by noticed what was happening and called 112: "I saw that boy go down with a trolley and a black waste bag from which liquid drips - he would have told the operators - there is also a strong smell".
The agents followed the traces of blood that led from the door of a building to a dumpster in via Stefano Borgia , a street in the working-class neighborhood located in the peripheral northwest quadrant of the capital.
The 17-year-old, originally from Sri Lanka but born in Rome, would have tried to throw the victim's body in the trash, without success. And the body would have remained in the trolley near the wall of a park, not far from the dumpsters. The agents of the Flying Squad closed the road to allow for the surveys and in a short time managed to trace the alleged perpetrator, interrogated for hours and finally arrested for murder. When he was stopped by the police, he still had blood on his shoes.
The crime dates back to several hours earlier, but it is not excluded that the 17-year-old may also have been dead for a few days. It will be the autopsy to establish it: from an initial analysis on the body, meanwhile, it emerged that Michelle tried with all her might to defend herself.
The two were not engaged but perhaps they had been dating for some time.
