Ten-year-old girl killed after being hit by SUV, driver was drunk

The 10-year-old girl who was hit by an SUV in Creazzo on Sunday afternoon while she was on the sidewalk with her father and little brother died in Vicenza hospital.
The driver, a 50-year-old man from Vicenza, was found to have a high blood alcohol level. In the accident , his brother was injured in a hand, while his father was unharmed .
According to the reconstruction carried out by the Carabinieri of the Valdagno Company (Vicenza), the driver lost control of the SUV which left the roadway, climbing onto the sidewalk where it hit the little girl. Rescued by an ambulance from Suem 118, the little girl was stabilized on the spot and then transported to the San Bortolo hospital in Vicenza, in the pediatric intensive care unit.
His conditions, already very serious at the time of hospitalization, worsened yesterday, and he died today.
The Vicenza Public Prosecutor's Office is now investigating for road homicide.
