Strong explosion in a warehouse in Ercolano: two dead, search for missing persons

A strong explosion occurred in a warehouse on Via Patacca in Ercolano: at least two confirmed deaths, some are missing.

The explosion apparently occurred in a building, which may have contained fireworks, but this has not yet been confirmed.

From the site of the explosion a column of smoke rises visible from a great distance. Via Patacca is an isolated area on the border between Ercolano and San Giorgio a Cremano, with green and agricultural areas. On site, with the carabinieri, ambulances and firefighters.
