Manuela Bittante, the woman who was stabbed by her husband yesterday in their home in Maser, didn't make it. Admitted to Treviso hospital in desperate conditions, she died today at dawn.

The man, after hitting her, went to the barracks to tell everything.

From what has been reconstructed, the 77-year-old returned home on Saturday evening after weeks spent almost entirely in hospital, in a semi-vegetative state, the result of a stroke in July.

"It was me, the situation had become unsustainable for me," said the 74-year-old husband, handing himself over to the soldiers.

Arrested for attempted aggravated murder, the man, in prison in Treviso, will have to answer at this point for the killing of his wife.
