"After a month of uncertainty, the news has given me some relief because it erases all the insinuations said about us. No one will give me Sharon back but I will always keep her memory alive and I know that it will help me to continue my life." Sergio Ruocco, Sharon Verzeni's partner, said this after the arrest of the murderer who at the end of July surprised the 33-year-old during a nighttime walk in Terno d'Isola (Bergamo), stabbing her to death, and then fleeing on his bicycle.

The one who ended up in handcuffs was Moussa Sangare, a 31-year-old Italian of Maghreb origin, who immediately confessed, explaining: "I had a sudden outburst. I can't explain why it happened, I saw her and I killed her."

The Carabinieri tracked him down in a house in the Bergamo area. During the searches in the house, a cardboard cutout in the shape of a human being was found, one of those used to practice throwing knives and according to what was reconstructed by the investigators, the 31-year-old would have used it as a sort of target to practice hitting. For this reason, being an element connected to the investigation, the cardboard cutout was seized.

The man is accused of premeditation in the murder. Sangare's lawyer, Giacomo Maj, explained : "It is very likely that there is a psychiatric problem, even if it is a premature discussion and it will be a topic to be explored with consultations and a possible request for an expert opinion".

The investigation continues.
