The investigation into the femicide of Sara Campanella, the 27-year-old from Palermo whose throat was slit in the street in Messina by Stefano Argentino, the university colleague who had been tormenting her for at least a year, is not closed. And while an audio recording has emerged, broadcast by the Mediaset program Mattino 4, in which the victim clearly tells the boy that she does not want to have any relationship with him, the carabinieri are trying to reconstruct the escape attempted by Stefano after the crime. The student, still holding the knife used to kill Sara, drove away and went to hide in his parents' B&B in Noto (Syracuse).

That's where the military found him by following the cells hooked to his cell phone. Investigators are trying to reconstruct the movements of the boy who, on Wednesday, during the preliminary hearing, despite not wanting to talk about the phases of the attack and what drove him to cut Sara Campanella's throat, confessed to the murder. An obvious admission, that of the 27-year-old, which he would have found difficult to deny given that the crime was filmed by some surveillance cameras in the area.

But there are still many points to clarify: from the weapon used - the knife was never found - to the role played by the young man's mother who, according to what was claimed by the investigating judge who validated the arrest, helped him escape. The woman had left a note to her other son claiming that she would have to go away for a few days for health reasons. False, say the investigators, who think that the woman was ready to follow the boy and that she knew what he had done.

"I have no time to waste. I don't want anything with you. I hope now, after a year, I've been clear. The last time I told you 'leave me alone': what did you understand about this thing?", Sara says to Stefano in the audio broadcast. It is the recording of a dialogue between the girl and her murderer, dating back to months before the crime, which the young woman had recorded and then sent to a friend . The girl had told her classmates about the student's harassing attentions. "Now I'll tell you again if you want to leave me alone. Are you going to go home or do you have to follow me?", asks the victim. "Why are you doing this? What do you hope to achieve?", he asks her. "I don't want to achieve anything - says Sara - you are the one who wants to achieve something if you follow me ."

"We are getting worse and worse, we can't move forward. She killed us all, that day. Our life is over", Claudio, Sara's brother, vented. " She was a ray of sunshine - he says - and we will fight until the end of our days so that she gets justice. We are receiving a lot of affection and this gives us strength, we thank everyone, we have no words. We didn't know everything that was happening with this colleague, she had been engaged for 8 months to another boy, what she said, that she loved herself too much to be with just anyone , was the pure truth. She was a serious girl, she was always smiling and we are sure she never gave this monster a chance to get close. Everyone confirmed it".

Yesterday evening, a torchlight procession took place from the courtyard of the Rectorate in Piazza Pugliatti in Messina in memory of the student. An initiative organized by the University with all the student associations and in collaboration with the Municipality of Messina. "Sara Campanella will receive a degree in memory. Today I promised her mother. We as a University must push young people to understand the danger and report it in time," said the rector of the university Giovanna Spatari, who was present at the torchlight procession.
