The 15-year-old hiker found dead this morning near Becca di Viou (2,856 meters) in the Aosta Valley . The boy fell while hiking the route.
The alarm was raised last night by his parents, whom the boy had called to say he was lost. His body was located today by a helicopter flyover at about 2,000 meters.
In addition to guides from the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue Service, the firefighters, the Aosta Valley Forestry Corps, and the SAGF (Safeguard of Financial Police) team, which is investigating the accident, participated in the search.
The body was recovered and transferred to the Aosta mortuary pending identification.
