The story that can be read in the order by which the investigating judge of Naples ordered the prison sentence for Renato Caiafa, who "accidentally" killed 18-year-old Arcangelo Correra, his childhood friend, is chilling.

According to what he told investigators, Caiafa said "he realized that it was a real weapon only at the moment of the shot and, in particular, when he saw Arcangelo's blood on the ground" .

So there would be a game, a macabre challenge, at the basis of Correra's death? This is what the 19-year-old, childhood friend of the victim, told, arrested for the murder.

Again according to Caiafa's story, «the whole group of friends he was with had seen the weapon and everyone was aware of the game he and Correra were playing» .

Based on this circumstance, therefore, according to the judge, " all the statements made by the young witnesses heard were false , who had reported not having seen any weapon and, indeed, not even having seen the moment the shot was fired".

"Renà don't leave me", these were the last words pronounced by the victim , addressed to the friend who had just fired the gunshot. Caiafa himself reported this, although his reconstruction of the discovery of the weapon does not convince the investigators. He said he found it shortly before the tragic events on the wheel of a car .
