The family of a girl whose daughter had pushed her at school, causing her to fall down the stairs and causing her to suffer a head injury, a long cut, against a corner, were sentenced to pay a total of 85 thousand euros in compensation.

The case of bullying occurred in a high school in Pistoia. According to the court, the parents should be condemned because they did not give their daughter "an education consistent with respect for the basic rules of civil coexistence" , they are essentially guilty of not having adequately educated their daughter. The court also "took into account the serious and unmotivated pressure" and in the sentence establishes that every parent "has the obligation to maintain, educate and educate their offspring, taking into account the abilities, natural inclinations and aspirations of the children".

The injured girl remained in hospital for three days and was discharged with a 20-day prognosis. A compensation of over 85 thousand euros was ordered for the victim's family, including legal costs.

The court also established a joint liability with the school because no teacher had supervised the students. The school defended itself by stating that the incident had occurred "in an environment known to the students and devoid of any particular dangerousness", a position rejected by the court because in any case at the time of the incident there were no teaching staff in the corridor supervising.
