"The Black Shirt will triumph. If it doesn't, it will be a bloodbath with truncheons and hand grenades." These are the lyrics of the song "Me ne frego," which resound from the Parma headquarters of the Brothers of Italy party, in Borgo del Parmigianino, in the city's historic center . This is what can be heard in a video, circling several social media channels, which shows a group of young people —the headquarters is also used by the party's youth movement, Gioventù Nazionale—singing the fascist-era song. At the end, chants of "Duce! Duce!" can also be clearly heard.

According to initial reports, the video was filmed on the evening of October 28, 2025, the anniversary of the March on Rome. And it has already sparked fierce controversy.

Mayor Michele Guerra commented on the incident: " The values this city represents are completely alternative and opposed to those shamelessly propagated at the headquarters of the Brothers of Italy party, where they praise the Duce and sing chants for the Blackshirts and the fascist squads. Parma will not, now or ever, accept squalid propaganda from a bygone and horrendous era. It hasn't done so for 80 years, and it won't do so now."

"In Parma, inside and outside the headquarters of the Brothers of Italy (FdI) and National Youth, right in the city center, people are proudly praising fascism and the Duce," said Luigi Tosiani, regional secretary of the Democratic Party in Emilia-Romagna . " We feel shame and outrage when we think of the values of our Emilia-Romagna, of those who fought and died to liberate our country . Who knows if President Meloni will condemn the actions of Italy's finest youth this time. We have little hope."

"Gioventù Nazionale immediately took action upon learning of the incident, placing the Parma provincial federation of GN under special administration, announcing this in a statement in the early hours of the morning, well before the video was published," said Fabio Roscani, national president of Gioventù Nazionale, and FdI MP. "We have clearly and unequivocally demonstrated how to respond to these incidents, reiterating that there is no room in our movement for behavior incompatible with the values of freedom and democracy. At the same time, we do not accept lessons from the left and are still waiting for action from the national leadership of the Democratic Party, who until now have not uttered a word of condemnation, or distanced themselves, when young members of the Democratic Party were photographed wearing T-shirts praising the Red Brigades."

The Parma Public Prosecutor's Office has meanwhile opened an investigation into the matter. "It involves a Model 45 vehicle; no crime has yet been alleged," explains Chief Prosecutor Alfonso D'Avino. "We are still in the exploratory phase based on reports learned from the press." The Parma Police Headquarters' DIGOS (Special Operations Unit) is investigating the matter. "Now we need to verify whether the matter is true and determine whether it could be turned into a criminal report."

At this stage, there are no people registered as suspects.
