"I didn't think about it, because if I had thought about it I wouldn't have done it. I acted on impulse."

These are the words confided by the 17-year-old arrested after killing his parents and 12-year-old brother in Paderno Dugnano to his lawyer, Amedeo Rizza, who met him this morning at the Beccaria juvenile prison in Milan, where the young man has been detained since last Sunday.

"He - the lawyer reiterated to reporters - is sorry not for himself, because he knows he will have to face a prison situation, but for the lives that are no longer there, because now he understands it."

Regarding the number of stab wounds (apparently 68) inflicted on the victims during the triple homicide, the lawyer added: "He didn't realize. There were a lot, yes. That could also represent the fact that he wasn't himself. It depends on how you read the matter."

Rizza also explained that the 17-year-old asked again to meet his relatives. "He asked about his family members, who at the moment are his grandparents, his aunt, and when he will be able to have a meeting with them. After tomorrow's validation decision, he will be able to."

The teenager also asked the lawyer to bring him some school textbooks. "He's reading books from the library, he's a boy who reads a lot and he also asked me for school books. Today I brought him one."
