Pianello di Ostra has chosen the sports field to say goodbye to 4 of the 11 victims of the flood of last September 15th. The only place that could accommodate the entire community who came to the funeral of Giuseppe and Andrea Tisba , father and son aged 65 and 25, Diego Chiappetti aged 51 and Ferdinando Olivi aged 84.

All died while trying to save themselves from the flood of water and mud coming from the Misa and Nevola that swept the town: in an attempt to shelter their cars they did not go up to the upper floors of their houses and were trapped.

The light-colored wooden coffins, covered with flowers, each with a photo, were placed under a tensile structure. Authorities (including the president of the Marche Region Francesco Acquaroli), citizens, representatives of all aid and rescue organizations: thousands of people participated.

In his homily, the bishop of Senigallia Franco Manenti urged administrators "at all levels" to carry out " an incisive and timely action to ensure the safety of the territory , so that water, a precious asset and source of life, does not yet happen. , bring death and devastation to our homes ”. It is a "specific request - he underlined - that rises from the territory".

The most moving moment was the message from Emma, girlfriend of Andrea Tisba, the youngest victim. " I made you wait many times, but now I am waiting for you and you will not have to be in a hurry, because I will wait for you forever ". Moments of emotion even when the 25-year-old's friends took the floor.

Meanwhile, the two missing are still being sought: Mattia Luconi , 8, and Brunella Chiù , 56.
