The 22-year-old mother of the newborn found dead in the garden of a villa in Traversetolo (Parma) on August 9 is being investigated on charges of voluntary homicide and concealment of a corpse.

In recent weeks, the baby's father had also been identified, a peer of the young woman who was apparently unaware of the pregnancy. Everyone was unaware, including her parents and friends: the girl was not followed by a gynecologist and gave birth alone at home, without anyone's help.

In the same garden - in the villa where the 22-year-old's family lives - other remains were found in recent days that appear to belong to a second small body, but the connection between the two bodies has not yet been clarified.

The girl is currently the only one under investigation for the macabre double discovery made in recent days. Parma prosecutor Alfonso D'Avino, who is coordinating the Carabinieri investigation, is maintaining maximum confidentiality on the matter. The prosecutor in charge of the case is Francesca Arienti.
