A 26-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been released, was killed in Naples by multiple gunshots.

According to initial reports, the 26-year-old was on Via Suor Maria della Passione Beata in Barra when he was approached by unknown assailants who opened fire. The circumstances and motive for the murder, however, remain unclear.

The man was transferred to the emergency room at Ospedale del Mare, where he later died. Officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue and the Flying Squad are investigating.
