The 36-year-old Gabriel Falloni from Sorso on trial for the murder of Elena Raluca Serban, 32, committed in Aosta on 17 April.

The first hearing was interrupted for about ten minutes, due to an illness of the accused, who fainted in the courtroom of the Court of Assists, chaired by President Eugenio Gramola, at the sight of the victim's images. An ambulance has also arrived in court to help him.

The trial instead opened with the reconstruction of the murder and subsequent investigations by the prosecution witnesses. The first to speak was the official of the Flying Squad, Francesco Filograno, who retraced all the stages of the investigation, up to the arrest of Falloni, which took place on April 21 in Nus, after a 3-day escape.

From what was reconstructed in the courtroom, the investigations were immediately addressed to the accused thanks to the video surveillance cameras of the condominium in Viale Partigiani where the victim had lived for just over a month, in addition to those of the nearby bank, which filmed the man entering and exit the building.

"Falloni - Filograno explained to the Court - has always moved by taxi. Both after the murder and during his escape. He called various taxi drivers, who the day after the murder took him to Genoa and then again. three days later, in Nus where we stopped and arrested him ".

With the money stolen from the 32-year-old, Falloni would have paid the taxis, some debts and sent money to the family in Sardinia.

In the courtroom also the experts of the forensics, according to which the victim was first strangled in the bedroom and then, in agony, dragged and stabbed in the throat in the bathroom.

For the coroner, Pasquale Beltempo, the cause of death is due to "a hemorrhagic shock, or a great loss of blood".

Falloni's defense - who decided to be taken back to prison during the hearing - asked - the Court accepted the request - the psychiatric report on the accused, to ascertain whether at the time of the facts he was able to understand and want.
