Alessandro Albertoni and Luca Vanneschi, definitively sentenced to 3 years in October 2021 for attempted group sexual violence against Martina Rossi, after semi-freedom, will serve their sentence in probationary custody with social services. This was established by the supervisory court of Florence in two different hearings, of which we now learn, in July 2023 for Vanneschi and in mid-February for Albertoni.

The two young people were tried for the death of the Genoese student who on 3 August 2011 fell from the balcony of a hotel room in Palma de Mallorca (Spain) where she was on holiday. Martina, the judge confirmed, died while running away from their attempted rape: she tried to climb over the balustrade to reach the balcony next door and save herself. But he couldn't and fell down.

The assignment was initially denied after the final sentence by the same Surveillance Court which however granted semi-freedom, i.e. the possibility of working outside during the day and returning to prison in Arezzo in the evening. Then the turning point for both of them. Currently the two, now in their thirties, carry out volunteer work at an association in Castiglion Fibocchi, the town where they live with their respective families. During the night hours, however, they are obliged to stay at home. The remaining sentence should run out in October 2025, but with good behavior - their defenders assess - they could finish serving the sentence even at the beginning of 2025 .

Franca Murialdi, mother of the victim: "This only sets a bad example for young people, they have never regretted it." Dad Bruno is dismayed: «No one will give me my daughter back. But these guys never even bothered to apologize. The minimum was that they served their sentence in prison."
