For three days nothing has been heard of Maria Denisa Adas, a 30-year-old originally from Romania and resident in Rome, who disappeared in Prato: there has been no news of her since the evening of May 16. The Prato prosecutor's office has opened a file for kidnapping, explaining in a statement that "some investigative findings under consideration" suggest that the woman "feared for her safety".

The woman's tracks were interrupted with a final call to her mother, which occurred between 11:00 PM and 11:30 PM on Friday. In that call - explains the mother - her daughter "seemed calm" . From that moment on, Maria Denisa has not been heard from again: her two cell phones are turned off, a circumstance that according to the family practically never happens. It was the mother who went to the police in the capital and raised the alarm, filing a missing persons report that activated first the prefecture's machine in Prato, with the search by the police and other rescuers, and then the investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office.

Investigators are now trying to trace the woman's tracks starting from the area of via Ferrucci, not far from the historic center of Prato: a quiet and reserved neighborhood, where there are mostly offices and commercial activities. There is the residence of the same name, 'Ferrucci', where the thirty-year-old had been staying for a few days. According to what the prosecutor's office explains in its note, the woman worked as an escort. She arrived from Rome to Prato last Friday, with her car, a Fiat 500 that was found parked in the internal courtyard of the residence and she stayed at the Ferrucci. She had booked until yesterday. According to what the prosecutor's office explains, the woman met a client around 8:45 pm on Friday. This man was questioned by the magistrates and demonstrated that he had an alibi for that night.

To understand what really happened, investigators are looking in every direction: they have viewed the cameras of the streets adjacent to the residence, they have heard the testimonies of the manager of the residence and the woman's friends, with whom there appears to have been exchanges of messages during the evening. In the room she had rented - she had come to Prato in the same residence other times in the past months - many of her clothes are missing. And at least two suitcases, as well as a blanket that Maria Denisa Adas apparently always carried with her. Her bag is not even in the room, while her make-up is in the bathroom. Two pairs of the woman's shoes were apparently found in the closet.

When the investigators arrived on site for an inspection, they found that the residence is equipped with cameras, but they only have a deterrent function on paper: they don't work . The room keys were unusually placed inside the door, a detail that suggests a sudden exit from the structure. The woman certainly did not use her car to move, but either got into another car or moved on foot before her tracks were lost.
