A 30-year-old man lost his life today outside the port of Livorno following a collision between a pilot boat and a 50-meter yacht . The accident between the two vessels, which occurred around 2:30 PM about 700 meters from the harbor entrance, caused the pilot boat operated by the 30-year-old to capsize.

According to initial reconstructions, the yacht's pilot had already boarded the vessel when the pilot boat driven by the 30-year-old, who had just carried out the transfer, first capsized, then remaining afloat only with the bow .

The Coast Guard immediately arrived on the scene and recovered the lifeless body of the driver of the small vessel from the water.

Authorities are working to reconstruct the causes of the accident.
