Landslide in Val Formazza, we are looking for some hikers
In the area of the Città di Busto refuge in Piedmont, at 2,480 metres
Searches are underway for some hikers in Val Formazza, in the Verbano-Cusio-Ossola area. They may have been overwhelmed by a landslide. It is not clear how many there are, reports the Valdossola mountain rescue delegation.
The affected area, according to initial information, would be below the Città di Busto refuge, which is located at 2,480 meters above sea level, in the municipality of Formazza.
The refuge is currently closed for the winter season. Firefighters, mountain rescue and financial police mountain rescue were on site.
