Sammy Basso, the world's longest-living progeria sufferer, has died . He was 28 years old . The young man, suffering from a rare disease that causes premature aging, reportedly fell ill while in a restaurant.

In his pocket a degree from the University of Padua, in his heart the dream of working at CERN in Geneva and making his pathology known to the world.

For this reason, in 2005, he founded the Italian Progeria Association.
