The parents of a two and a half year old boy who died in the hospital of Sassuolo , in the province of Modena, filed a complaint against unknown persons with the carabinieri with the hypothesis of the crime of death as a consequence of another crime.
The little one had been taken to the emergency room , on the recommendation of the pediatrician, because he had flu symptoms, with high fever and difficulty breathing . Hospitalized in the Pediatrics ward, the doctors had announced his resignation, given the improvement in his health conditions. In the night between last Tuesday and Wednesday, however, the little patient died of a "sudden cardiac arrest", as the hospital itself explained in a statement. An autopsy will be performed to clarify.
"The family does not point the finger at anyone - declared the lawyer Roberta D'Aquino, lawyer of the parents of the child - they ask for truth and justice for the son who had been hospitalized, as far as we know, for symptoms attributable to a influenza-like virus, and died within hours of unknown circumstances. It is therefore necessary to carry out any useful investigative act in order to ascertain how and why the child died in the Pediatrics ward. We are counting on appointing an expert as soon as possible".
