Tragedy yesterday in Palestrina, near Rome.

Two girls in their twenties were hit by a car while crossing the street to go to church.

One of the two was transported by helicopter in very serious conditions to the hospital, and died this morning.

The friend is injured but her life is not in danger. The 118 and the Carabinieri of the Palestrina company intervened on the scene.

The driver of the car, a 72-year-old, was unharmed. The vehicle was impounded.
