Hit by a branch while chopping wood, a 58-year-old dies

He had gone to collect wood with his tractor, but a large branch detached from the plant he had begun to cut and hit him squarely .

A 58-year-old man , resident in Valsesia, died following a tragic accident that took place yesterday evening in Roccapietra, a hamlet of Varallo (Vercelli).

The rescuers of the medical team intervened on the spot to try to revive the man, but for the 58-year-old there was nothing they could do. Health workers found him now lifeless at the base of the tree.

The police are investigating the case. An autopsy will be performed in the next few hours.
