After raping an 11-year-old girl, he left his fanny pack, with the documents, inside the house where the rape had taken place. Thanks to these elements, investigators traced the identity of Massimiliano Mulas, 45, of Sardinian origins but resident in Piedmont: already known for similar episodes in the past, he was arrested again.

The facts date back to Thursday, in Mestre . According to the reconstruction of the investigators, Mulas would have followed the girl to the front of her home. Here he would have threatened her and taken her inside by force, and then abused her.

After the report to the police and the discovery of the documents, the photo of the alleged perpetrator was immediately distributed: he was identified by the Polfer, at the station, while he was returning from Padua where, apparently, the suspect had gone to buy some clothes.

According to judicial reports, Mulas is not new to episodes of sexual violence: in the past he has already served sentences for crimes similar to the latest one he is accused of.

The validation hearing is scheduled for tomorrow. In the meantime, the forty-five-year-old is locked up in prison in Venice, in a protected area, to preserve his safety.
