A 55-year-old man, Milko Gargiulo, was killed in an ambush in Marano, in the Naples area, a short distance from a school.
According to initial reports, he was in his car when he was hit by several gunshots. The murderer - identified as Andrea Izzo, a 40-year-old skipper - took his own life after the crime. The story was apparently based on passion: Izzo allegedly killed Gargiulo because he had started a relationship with his ex.
From what we understand, Gargiulo had already reported in the past to the police that he had received death threats.
Today the settling of scores at the end of a chase that started in Naples and continued until the municipality of Marano where the murderer, riding a scooter, reached the victim who was on board a BMW and then opened fire. Then the decision to take his own life.
