Bad adventure for a man from Cesena during an anti-Covid test with a swab.

The man went to the drive-through set up in the hospital in his city to do a control nasopharyngeal examination. But something went wrong and the stick got stuck in his nose.

The intervention of 118 was necessary, who transported the patient to the Bufalini emergency room, a few tens of meters away, and to the ENT department where the doctors took out the swab.

As reported by the Ausl Romagna, "accidents like this can happen" and "after a year and a half of the pandemic only one episode has occurred". According to what the health company explains, "it is almost certain that the patient in question had hypertrophic nasal cavities, a condition that can represent a risk in these cases even if everything is always resolved without difficulty".

Fortunately for the patient, there were no serious consequences.
