A 48-year-old beat his 85-year-old mother to death . Then he called the carabinieri.

It happened in the province of Arezzo, in Subbiano, in the house where mother and son lived.

"I killed my mom, come on," he said in the 112 call around midnight. The prosecutor on duty Francesca Eva also went to the scene of the crime.

The man, known for addiction problems , was first taken to hospital (after the crime he may have attempted suicide) and then to the barracks in Arezzo.
