The former footballer of Empoli, Udinese and the national team Totò Di Natale victim, again, of a robbery.
On Thursday evening, according to the reconstruction of the police, a group of at least five people managed to break into the garden of his villa near Empoli, in the province of Florence. Pointing a gun to his head and a knife to his throat, the current Carrarese coach delivered the luxury watch he had on his wrist, worth around 30,000 euros.
The criminals, with covered faces and gloves, according to investigators had in mind to steal more in the house but after grabbing the watch they ran away. It is possible that they were in contact with a "pole" that would have raised an alarm, perhaps a car passing too close to the house.
The investigations are conducted by the mobile squad of the Florence police headquarters. The forensic police were also on site yesterday for the findings.
THE PREVIOUS - Di Natale had long ago chosen to live in the Tuscan town, ever since he played in the local professional club. For ten years he has been the owner of the villa located in the Ponzano area, in a predominantly agricultural context and where there are other prestigious homes. Nine years ago, still in the same villa, the thieves carried out another theft taking away precious and jewelery, managing to escape in time as soon as the alarm was triggered. This time, however, Di Natale was not at home.
"I hope - said the mayor of Empoli Brenda Barnini - that the investigators will soon shed light on the facts and that those responsible will be identified and arrested".
