Giulia Dedola "friend of consumers" .

The eleven-year-old Sardinian, riding champion, hit the headlines at the end of last May, when she "challenged" Chiara Ferragni on Instagram by commenting on a photo in which the influencer immortalized herself half-naked .

“What's the message for us little girls? That to get noticed we have to get naked? I don't find it a nice message to send," he wrote, and his comment garnered tens of thousands of likes.

Codacons has decided to reward her. On 12 July Giulia Dedola will receive the "Friend of the consumer 2023" award in Rome. A recognition, explains the association, which is assigned every year "to those subjects from the world of politics, institutions, businesses and civil society who have distinguished themselves for their commitment to protect citizens' rights and in favor of the community ».

The girl will receive a plaque during the event organized at Palazzo Rospigliosi, in the capital. This is the motivation: «At the age of just 11 he raised a question of great importance regarding the responsible use of social media and the influence that public figures exert on the younger generations. He has shown considerable sensitivity towards issues related to image, self-esteem and self-respect. His constructive criticism has sparked a broad debate on body awareness, the sexualization of images, and the promotion of healthy and respectful role models.

For the record, we also report Ferragni's reply to that comment : «The message for everyone, girls and not, from me is very simple: no one can judge us or make us feel wrong. They taught us that women cannot dare and this is one of the many ways I use to take the freedom that we all should have".
