Giovanna Pedretti had confirmed to the police the contents of the shocking review of a customer who had panned the restaurant on Google because it had been placed next to a table with gays and disabled people.
The restaurateur, who took her own life after the controversy over the alleged falsification of the homophobic and ableist review, was summoned to the barracks in Sant'Angelo Lodigiano by the police, who were investigating that review, hypothesizing the crime of "propaganda and incitement to commit crime for reasons of racial, ethnic and religious discrimination" .
On the afternoon of Saturday 13 January Giovanna Pedretti was heard as a person informed about the facts and a potential victim of the affair : an interview lasting a few minutes, the police report, in which the woman confirmed the content of the review but was unable to provide details on the identity of the customer .
The next morning the woman was found lifeless in Lambro , after having cut her wrists.
Meanwhile today at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Pavia an autopsy is taking place on the restaurateur's body. The cadaveric inspection has highlighted wounds not only to the wrists and an arm, but also to a leg and the neck.
The exact cause of death remains to be established with the autopsy: whether due to injuries, drowning or frostbite due to the freezing waters.
