The fugitive status of Flavius Savu, the Romanian man definitively sentenced to 5 years in prison on charges of extortion against the former rector of the Madonna della Bozzola , the sanctuary located in Garlasco and in the news due to certain hypotheses linked to the murder of Chiara Poggi, has ended.
According to the investigations, Savu, 43, together with an accomplice, also Romanian, had repeatedly obtained large sums of money from Don Gregorio Vitali and Don Pietro Rossoni, at the time rector and vice-rector of the sanctuary, threatening to otherwise disseminate, including through television broadcasts, audio and video recordings of their sexual encounters .
Savu, captured in Switzerland, could also be questioned by Pavia prosecutors regarding the connection he made on TV, while a fugitive, between the alleged parties at the sanctuary and Chiara's murder . His lawyer, Roberto Grittini, has announced that his client will consent to extradition and will make himself available to the Pavia prosecutor's office, including in the Poggi case . It remains to be seen whether the prosecutors consider him credible.
A lead, that of the Bozzola sanctuary, for which no confirmation has been found so far.
Some time ago, the documents from the investigation into the blackmail orchestrated against the two priests were acquired by the Pavia prosecutors in the file against Andrea Sempio, now accused of the murder of Chiara Poggi.
And this is not only because of the interviews with Massimo Lovati, one of Sempio's lawyers, who spoke of a possible "secret" discovered by Chiara regarding red-light activities that took place at the Bozzola sanctuary , but also because of similar statements made on TV by Savu and the similarly tenor memorial delivered by his nephew, in prison for murder, to his lawyers.
Meanwhile, tomorrow morning, at the Milan Police Headquarters, the preliminary investigation into the Garlasco crime will resume : experts will meet to search for latent fingerprints on some of the rubbish seized at the crime scene on the morning of the crime.
