A doctor savagely beaten by the relatives of a woman who died of Covid after banning them from entering the emergency room.

It happened at the Perrino hospital in Brindisi.
According to a reconstruction of the incident, the doctor would have invited the victim's family to comply with the anti-Covid regulations on the risk of infections, as the woman's family - 52 years old - were to be considered close contacts.

According to local media reports, the 52-year-old would have arrived accompanied by family members to the emergency room in extremely critical conditions and would have gone into cardiac arrest. The attempts to save her life were useless.

The story would degenerate when the doctor communicated the death to relatives in the waiting room. At that point, the son would have tried to break into the Covid area, even throwing himself at the doctor with kicks and punches.

The police then also intervened, engaged for over an hour in an attempt to bring the situation under control.
