The defense of Filippo Turetta , the 22-year-old accused of the murder of his ex-girlfriend Giulia Cecchettin , will not present a request to the Review to ask for the young man's release or mitigation of the precautionary measure.

The lawyer Giovanni Caruso said this as he left the Verona prison, where he met his client. «I say this – he added – to correct or clarify some news that I read today. No request will be made towards the detention order in prison, nor will any relaxation of the measure currently being implemented be requested ."

Turetta's interrogation in prison is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday 28 November, the first by the Italian authorities. The lawyer did not want to reveal anything: "Filippo is well, out of respect for the judicial authority I won't reveal anything about tomorrow's interrogation, I won't tell you if Turetta will speak or will make use of the right not to answer ."
