The Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate, in the province of Naples, has begun the process of acquiring the Castle of the “Boss of Ceremonies,” the mega-receptive structure of the Polese family confiscated in February and known for the popular TV program.

The confiscation came in February for alleged building abuses carried out since 1979 on an area of 40 thousand square meters. And yet in the meantime the Sonrisa has continued to be the location of glittering weddings, even broadcast on television.

"We have waited eight months - says Mayor Ilaria Abagnale - for the publication of the reasons for the sentence that orders the confiscation of the property known as 'Grand Hotel La Sonrisa' and the free acquisition of the entire area of over 40 thousand square meters as property of the Municipality of Sant'Antonio Abate . Now, with the municipal offices, all the guidelines have been drawn up to start the acquisition of the property, in view of the subsequent timetable to free up the buildings and land".

"In the next few days - continues the mayor of Sant'Antonio Abate - a management meeting has been scheduled that will carefully outline the timetable of activities, which will be evaluated in concert with the municipal offices . The timetable will subsequently be submitted to the scrutiny of the prefecture and the general prosecutor's office of Naples. In the meantime, through a note addressed to the prefect, to the public prosecutor's office at the Torre Annunziata court and to the general prosecutor's office of Naples, copies of the resolutions adopted have already been sent".
