Carlo Smuraglia , honorary president of Anpi , lawyer and former parliamentarian, died in Milan. Born in Ancona in 1923 , he would have turned 99 in August .

Partisan, then a lawyer and teacher, Smuraglia was elected senator three times . He was president of the National Partisan Association of Italy from 2011 until 2017, when he resigned and was later elected president emeritus of the Association.

He was a member of the CSM from February 1986 to July 1990.
