A magnitude 4 earthquake was recorded at 4:55 a.m. in Campi Flegrei, in the province of Naples. According to data from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), the quake had a hypocenter less than a kilometer deep and an epicenter near Pozzuoli.

This is the strongest shock recorded since the beginning of a new seismic sequence that has been ongoing in the area since yesterday, which so far has counted at least 40 seismic events, 23 of which have just begun today .

Yesterday, two tremors of magnitude 3.3 were recorded, after which the prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, summoned the Rescue Coordination Centre confirming that there was no damage to people or things .
