"I noticed a certain delay in language and, more generally, learning problems, although physically I was always very active. He used to make repeated movements with his hands, waving them in front of his face and in particular also waving his fingers. I had spoken even with my mother of this belief of mine, he had become a fixed worm ".

Thus Adalgisa Gamba, 40 years old from Torre del Greco (Naples) explained the reasons why she killed her two and a half year old son, who drowned in the waters in front of the Scala area because she was convinced that he had a mental retardation which was never confirmed by the doctors.

This is what we read in the order to validate the arrest of the woman signed by the investigating judge of the Court of Torre Annunziata Fernanda Iannone.

In another excerpt from the interrogation, the woman claims: “In my head many times I have said to myself that perhaps it would have been better to have only one daughter. The specter of autism began to haunt me, because my son did things my first child never did. "

Then the story of the dramatic moments that preceded the death of the little one: “Then I headed towards the rock, but I can't tell you why I decided to take him there. I didn't have the clarity at that moment to understand my actions ".

And when asked if he drowned, the child replied: “No, I can't tell you, it's as if I had a void at that moment. As if the brain was turned off at that moment. The child has always been in my arms, I talked to him but I didn't give weight to the fact that he was underwater ".

The little one “didn't cry but still moved, I looked at the sea and thought about freedom, without realizing everything else. I felt a feeling of liberation, for me and for what my son's life would have been like ".

THE FATHER - “Ugly”. So Adalgisa Gamba called the child, reported the woman's husband and the victim's father.

"He said he was ugly, complaining of his constant cries and wishing his death when he said, 'we want to make him die, maybe he gets rid of the habit'".

That 40-year-old child has never accepted him, he has been a source of pain since before his birth, having been "a supporter of a difficult pregnancy, a painful birth and a definitive removal of the husband, as well as the protagonist of an unmanageable daily life" , we read in the order of the investigating judge.

From the words of the woman to the investigators, the contrasts with her spouse also emerge, "absent from the life of the children, especially the little one, but also from the education of the other daughter", of whom she would have assumed "all the duties".
