The protests in Milan against high rents which - in the Lombardy city but also in the rest of Italy - suffocate away students and workers do not subside.
Since last Wednesday the protesters, "armed" with tents , have returned to Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, occupying the spaces of the former Splendor cinema in Viale Gran Sasso. A small procession then set off from the Polytechnic with a banner at its head with the slogan: " We are tents and we're getting a roof ."
The national assembly is scheduled for today in the abandoned building to discuss issues such as high rents and the housing emergency. About 100 people, coming from all over the country, are expected to attend the meeting.
